Greenville County Schools was recently named Outstanding District of the Year by the South Carolina PTA. Ten additional awards were presented to GCS schools, staff, and volunteers.

As SC PTA Outstanding District of the Year, GCS earned recognition for a number of activities, including an increase in total membership; number of new units; number of 100% student/family membership and faculty membership units; attendance at school board meetings, and percent of units participating in special projects and activities.

The following schools also received 2022-23 SC PTA awards:

  • Greenville County Schools – District of the Year
  • Beck International Academy – Sheila Green – Outstanding Administrator of the Year
  • Beck International Academy – Christina Rentz – Outstanding Support Staff of the Year
  • Beck International Academy – Allison Tucker – Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
  • Bryson Elementary – Sheila Urbina – Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
  • Greenville High – Alex Fagan – Outstanding Teacher of the Year
  • Greenville High – Jason Warren – Outstanding Administrator of the Year
  • Greenville High – Kathryn Rowan – Outstanding Support Staff of the Year
  • Greenville High – Elizabeth Whelehan – Outstanding Student Volunteer of the Year
  • Greenville High PTSA – Outstanding Local Unit of the Year
  • JL Mann High – Jana Scroggins – Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
