About Upcountry Fiber Artists

The artistic expression of fabric and stitch is explored and experimented with by Upcountry Fiber Artists, a group of six Carolina textile artists. The idea of a group began in 2018 when several local members of the international trade association Studio Art Quilt Associates connected to further our journeys in fiber art and evolved into an exhibiting artists group. Each artist’s unique voice emerges through their design and construction processes, using various techniques to manipulate media and develop texture and colors. This stylistic diversity, united by the use of layered fabric, batting, and thread, provides the viewer with many ways to look at and appreciate fiber as an artistic medium.
