Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina’s 4th district since 2019, has recently shared several updates on his official social media account. These updates touch upon significant national and state developments, legislative concerns, and initiatives he is actively pursuing.

On May 16, 2025, Congressman Timmons announced a significant development for South Carolina with the President Trump’s Qatar Airways deal. He stated that this agreement “secures Boeing’s largest-ever order for 210 jets,” including those manufactured in South Carolina such as the 787 Dreamliners. Timmons expressed gratitude towards the President for this achievement “Thank you, @POTUS.”

Later that day, Timmons addressed potential economic repercussions tied to legislative actions. He warned against failing to pass what he referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which he claims would result in increased taxes on families and small businesses nationwide. He emphasized the contradiction of claiming support for business or family while opposing this bill “You cannot say you are pro-business or pro-family and vote no.”

In another update on May 16, Congressman Timmons detailed his recent activities through a series of bullet points labeled “Friday 5.” Among these was his introduction of a resolution to censure Representative McIver of New Jersey due to her conduct at Delaney Hall ICE facility on May 9th. Additionally, he led discussions in FSC hearings focused on housing innovations such as manufactured, modular, and 3-D printed homes “Led the discussion on innovations like manufactured, modular, and 3-D printed homes.”

William Timmons has been serving in Congress since succeeding Trey Gowdy in 2019. Born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1984, he continues to reside there today. Prior to his congressional role, he served in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. His educational background includes a BA from George Washington University and a JD from the University of South Carolina.
