Chandler Creek Post Acute ranks third in Greenville County’s nursing home size for Q1 2026

Chandler Creek Post Acute ranked as Greenville County’s third largest nursing home during the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The center had 133 beds available, which is 34 more than the county average as of the first quarter of 2026. An average of 123.3 residents were cared for during the same period.

The CMS assigned Chandler Creek Post Acute an overall 2 out of 5 rating, falling below the statewide average of 3 for South Carolina nursing homes.

NHC Healthcare – Mauldin led the county with the most beds during the quarter at 180, followed by Brushy Creek Post Acute with 144 beds available.

Chandler Creek Post Acute reported no fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.

Greenville County had a total of 18 for-profit nursing homes.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the country’s older adult population is rising while those under 18 decline. Between 2020 and 2024, the number of Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, contrasted with a 1.7% drop among those under 18. Over the past century, the older adult segment has expanded sharply, from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

Research from 2021 finds that almost half of U.S. adults 65 and older—about 28 million—are expected to require long-term services and support, with projections that more than one-third will need nursing home care at some point.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
