Congressman William Timmons, who represents South Carolina’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 11, 2025, addressing border security and an incident involving a public school teacher in his district.

On the afternoon of September 11, Timmons announced his support for recent border legislation, stating, “I proudly voted YES on H.R. 3486- Stop Illegal Entry Act. We MUST have strong and secure borders! “ (September 11, 2025).

Later that day, he commented on reports concerning a local educator: “A public school teacher in my district is openly celebrating the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk. This is vile, hateful, and dangerous. No one who glorifies political violence should be allowed near students. He should be fired immediately.” (September 11, 2025).

In a subsequent post, Timmons reiterated his stance regarding teachers’ conduct online: “Let this serve as a warning: if you are a public school teacher in my district and you use your platform to spew vile, inappropriate content, you will be held accountable. Being placed on leave is just the first step.” (September 11, 2025).

William Timmons has served as U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 4th District since replacing Trey Gowdy in 2019 and previously served in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. Born in Greenville in 1984 and currently residing there at age 38, Timmons holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of South Carolina.
