U.S. Congressman William Timmons, who represents South Carolina’s 4th district, recently posted a series of statements on his official X (formerly Twitter) account addressing political violence in schools and reflecting on a prayer breakfast held in his state.

On September 15, 2025, Timmons posted: “We are not the same.”

The following day, September 16, 2025, he made a statement condemning celebrations of political assassinations in educational settings: “This is far from over.

Celebrating an assassination is pure evil, and anyone in a taxpayer-funded classroom who engages in this filth must be held accountable.

We will not tolerate political violence being normalized in our schools.”

Later that same day, Timmons commented on a local event: “This morning’s prayer breakfast could not have come at a more critical time.

Thank you, @SenatorTimScott, for leading the annual South Carolina Prayer Breakfast.”

William Timmons has served as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 4th District since 2019 after succeeding Trey Gowdy. He previously served in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018 and was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. Timmons holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of South Carolina.
