Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina’s 4th District since 2019, shared his views on recent political and economic developments via social media. Timmons has been vocal about regulatory clarity in the cryptocurrency industry, federal grants distribution, and oversight of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

On June 4, 2025, Timmons addressed the need for clearer regulatory frameworks in the cryptocurrency sector. He stated, “The crypto industry is no exception to President Trump’s promise to bring jobs back to the United States. For too long, innovators have fled to countries with more clear regulatory regimes. It is vital that Congress passes the CLARITY Act and brings talent back to the U.S!”

Later that day, Timmons commented on Stacey Abrams’ situation regarding federal grants. He tweeted, “Stacey Abrams lost Georgia, but she’s winning federal grants.” This post tagged both @DOGECommittee and @GOPoversight.

In a subsequent post on June 4th, Timmons criticized the Biden administration’s financial decisions concerning NGOs. He wrote, “: The Biden administration’s decision to hand $27 billion to undeserving NGOs is a monumental lack-of-oversight. Taxpayers should not be forced to bankroll these corrupt entities!”

William Timmons has served as a congressman since succeeding Trey Gowdy in 2019 and previously served in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. Born in Greenville in 1984, he holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of South Carolina.
