On May 5, 2025, Congressman Timmons issued a reminder regarding the implementation of REAL ID standards in South Carolina. He noted that beginning May 7, 2025, residents must have a gold star on their driver’s license to use it as identification for boarding domestic flights. Alternatively, travelers will need an additional form of ID such as a passport.

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he provided a link for further information about these new requirements.

On May 6, 2025, Congressman Timmons expressed his gratitude after speaking at the South Carolina Business Council. In his post, he thanked Jaxon Lang, President and CEO of AFL Global, for introducing him at the event. Timmons acknowledged the role of job creators in enhancing South Carolina’s quality of life.

William Timmons has served in Congress since replacing Trey Gowdy in 2019 and was previously a member of the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. Born in Greenville in 1984, he holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of South Carolina.
