Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina’s 4th district since 2019, has been vocal on several key issues via social media. His recent posts highlight significant legislative proposals and policy initiatives.

On May 20, 2025, Timmons emphasized a major tax reform initiative by stating “It delivers the largest tax cut in American history. This means an extra $5,000 in Americans’ pockets with a DOUBLE-DIGIT percent DECREASE to their tax bills. Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 will pay around 15% less in taxes.” This suggests a focus on reducing the financial burden for middle-income earners.

In another post from the same date, Timmons urged unity among House Republicans to support President Trump’s legislative agenda. He wrote “THREAD: @HouseGOP MUST unite to pass President Trump’s One, Big, Beautiful Bill and take advantage of this once-in-a-generation opportunity we were given by voters. 20 Reasons Why Congress Must Unite Behind the One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” This call to action underscores his commitment to advancing specific legislative priorities under Republican leadership.

Further discussing border security measures on May 20, 2025, Timmons noted “It finishes President Trump’s border wall. As a result, 701 miles of primary wall, 900 miles of river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers, and 141 miles of vehicle and pedestrian barriers will be constructed — stopping deadly fentanyl from flowing into our communities and” indicating his support for stringent immigration control policies aimed at enhancing national security.

William Timmons was born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1984 and currently resides there. He graduated from George Washington University with a BA and earned a JD from the University of South Carolina. Before joining Congress in 2019 as Trey Gowdy’s successor for South Carolina’s 4th District seat, he served in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018.
