Congressman William Timmons, who represents South Carolina’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 16 and 17, 2025, addressing topics ranging from presidential transparency to new legislation targeting the fentanyl crisis and digital asset regulation.

On July 16, Timmons highlighted an event involving a presidential aide: ” Anthony Bernal just pleaded the Fifth when asked if unelected aides or family members carried out presidential duties while Biden declined. He also refused to say whether Biden instructed him to lie about the President’s health. The American people deserve answers.”

Later that day, he commented on recent legislative action by President Trump: “President Trump just signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law—taking a crucial step to fight the deadly fentanyl crisis. This law will save lives and protect families from this devastating epidemic. Thank you, @POTUS, for putting Americans’ safety first!”

On July 17, Timmons reported his vote on another piece of legislation: ” PASSED: I just voted YES on the CLARITY Act to deliver real regulatory certainty for digital assets. Our bipartisan bill shows Congress is serious about returning Crypto leadership to America. President Trump’s agenda continues to protect consumers and support innovation. “

William Timmons has represented South Carolina’s 4th District in Congress since 2019 after previously serving in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. Born in Greenville in 1984, he continues to reside there and holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of South Carolina.
