Congressman William Timmons, who represents South Carolina’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media regarding the death of Charlie Kirk and commemorating the anniversary of September 11.

On September 10, 2025, Timmons wrote, “Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk.”

Later that day, he shared news of Kirk’s passing: “We are devastated that Charlie Kirk was taken from us today.

Charlie devoted his life to public dialogue and open conversation and ultimately sacrificed it for the same.

He was a loving husband, father, a friend to many, and inspired a movement of young conservatives. His” (September 10, 2025).

The following morning, on September 11, Timmons marked the anniversary of the terrorist attacks with a message honoring victims and first responders: “Today we remember September 11, 2001. A day of unimaginable loss, but also a day that revealed the strength and resilience of the American spirit.

We honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken, the bravery of the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families whose https://t.co/3imYBBjsKN” (September 11, 2025).

William Timmons has served as U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 4th District since replacing Trey Gowdy in 2019. Before joining Congress he served in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. Born in Greenville in 1984 and currently residing there at age 38, Timmons holds degrees from George Washington University and earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina.
