The Furman men’s tennis team will conclude its regular season by hosting the Wofford Terriers in a Southern Conference match on Thursday, April 8, at Mickel Tennis Center.

This match is important as it marks the final opportunity for both teams to secure a win before entering postseason play. Fans can follow live updates and video coverage through Furman’s official athletics website and the team’s Twitter page.

Furman currently holds a record of 7-14 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The team recently lost to East Tennessee State, ranked No. 60 nationally, with a score of 5-2. Despite the loss, Furman won the doubles point for the eighth time in its last ten matches with victories from Evan Duggal and Landon Ecarma at No. 2 doubles, and Alex Han and Finn Pollard at No. 3 doubles. In singles competition, Theophile Joly secured his fourth win of the season in straight sets at No. 3.

Wofford enters Thursday’s contest with an overall record of 6-10 and a conference mark of 1-5 after falling to Mercer last Saturday by a score of 4-3. The Terriers are led by head coach Rod Ray, who is serving his twenty-sixth year with the program.

The two teams have met forty-nine times previously, with Furman holding a commanding lead in the all-time series at forty-six wins to two losses. Furman has won sixteen consecutive matches against Wofford dating back to 2012.

Looking ahead, Furman will travel next week to Chattanooga for the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Championships scheduled for April 16–18 at Champions Club.
