The Furman softball team announced on April 27 that it will play four road games during the last week of the 2026 regular season. The team recently secured a series win over Wofford and is set to face Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Tuesday at 6 p.m., followed by a three-game Southern Conference series against Chattanooga this weekend.
These upcoming games are significant as they mark the conclusion of Furman’s regular season, providing an opportunity for the team to maintain its recent momentum before entering postseason play. The match against Georgia Tech was rescheduled from last Wednesday and will be available via live stream on ACC Network Xtra.
Georgia Tech currently leads the all-time series against Furman, holding a 26-18 advantage. The Yellow Jackets won their most recent meeting in February 2022 with a score of 5-0. Georgia Tech has an overall record of 29-26 and is coming off a three-game sweep by Florida State, according to information released by Furman Athletics.
Chattanooga improved its record to 19-27-1 after winning its latest game at UNC Greensboro. In previous encounters, Chattanooga swept Furman in last year’s series and holds an all-time lead of 87-28 between the two programs. This weekend’s doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., with Sunday’s finale at 2 p.m.
Furman enters these contests with a record of 13-36 overall and has won eight out of its last fourteen games, including two-of-three victories over both Wofford and Mercer. Freshmen Kristyn Embler and Jamison Noonan earned wins as pitchers during the past weekend while Katie Peeler achieved a .500 batting average and Sylvia Burroughs drove in four runs. Burroughs leads the Paladins with a .338 batting average, nine home runs, and thirty-nine runs batted in; AB Cipalla follows closely behind with a .336 average and eleven doubles.
The Southern Conference Softball Championship is scheduled for May 6–9 at Frost Stadium following this weekend’s action.
