Furman women’s golf in second place entering final round at Daniel Island Invitational

Furman University’s women’s golf team is in second place after two rounds at the Daniel Island Invitational, held at the Ralston Creek Course in Daniel Island, South Carolina. The Paladins finished Monday with a total score of +6, trailing High Point University by two strokes. Xavier University holds third place at +7, while N.C. State and East Carolina are also among the top teams.

Sophomore Jenna Madden leads Furman individually, tied for ninth place at one under par after rounds of 74 and 69. Madden made five birdies in her second round and is three shots behind tournament leaders Anna Howerton of High Point and Sydney Hackett of Western Kentucky.

Freshman Olivia Hasselbach is tied for 20th at +2, highlighted by a second-round score of 70 that included four birdies. Freshman Ava Hanneman sits tied for 23rd at +3 after making a hole-in-one on No. 4 during her first round.

Other Furman players include sophomore Audrey Ryu (+5), who is tied for 33rd; sophomore Eva Ringwald (+11), tied for 57th; and sophomore Andrea Marin Raga (+10), playing as an individual and currently tied for 54th.

The final round will take place Tuesday with a shotgun start scheduled for 9 a.m. Furman will play alongside High Point and Xavier. Admission to the event is free, and live scoring can be followed online through this link: https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/238738/scoring/team.
