Furman women’s golf prepares to compete in Daniel Island Invitational

The Furman women’s golf team is set to compete in the Daniel Island Invitational, which will take place Monday and Tuesday at the Ralston Creek Course at Daniel Island Club in South Carolina. The course is a par 72 and measures 6,166 yards.

Furman’s lineup for the event features freshman Olivia Hasselbach, sophomore Eva Ringwald, junior Audrey Ryu, freshman Ava Hanneman, and sophomore Jenna Madden. Sophomore Andrea Marin Raga will participate as an individual competitor.

The tournament includes a field of 15 teams. Alongside Furman are College of Charleston (the host), Charleston Southern, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Delaware, East Carolina, Elon, Georgetown, High Point, James Madison, N.C. State, Oral Roberts, Western Kentucky, and Xavier.

Play begins with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. on Monday. Furman will start on holes No. 4 through No. 6 and play alongside Charlotte and Western Kentucky during the first two rounds. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Earlier this season in the fall semester’s Lady Paladin Invitational, Furman tied for third place. Audrey Ryu finished tied for 11th after posting scores of 71-72-70 for a total of three-under-par (213). At the Cougar Classic earlier in the season she finished four-under-par to tie for seventh place after rounds of 68-70-71. In October’s Evie Odom Invitational both Ryu and Hanneman tied for 13th with scores totaling four-over-par (214). In their spring opener at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic Ryu tied for eighth at five-under-par; last week Hasselbach led Furman by tying for third place (+4) at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate.
