Furman women’s golf team prepares for UNF Collegiate tournament

The Furman women’s golf team is set to compete in the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida. The course measures 6,348 yards and is a par 72.

Fourteen teams will participate in the event, including host University of North Florida (UNF), Augusta, Campbell, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville, Florida Gulf Coast, Miami, Oklahoma State (ranked No. 29), Old Dominion, Sam Houston, South Alabama, South Florida, and Tulsa.

Furman’s lineup features junior Audrey Ryu; sophomores Jenna Madden and Andrea Marin Raga; and freshmen Ava Hanneman and Olivia Hasselbach. Sophomore Eva Ringwald will compete as an individual.

The tournament consists of 54 holes and will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. Furman will tee off on holes 5 through 9 alongside players from Florida Gulf Coast, Old Dominion, and South Florida during the first two rounds. The final round is planned for Tuesday at 8:45 a.m., though cold weather may cause delays.

In previous competitions this season, Furman tied for third place at the Lady Paladin Invitational last fall. Audrey Ryu finished tied for 11th with scores of 71-72-70=213 to end three under par. Earlier in the season at the Cougar Classic, she shot rounds of 68-70-71 to finish four under par and tie for seventh place. At October’s Evie Odom Invitational, both Ryu and Hanneman tied for 13th with a three-round total of four over par (214). In their spring opener at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, Ryu tied for eighth place at five under par.
