The Furman women’s lacrosse team will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday evening to play against the Queens (N.C.) Royals in a non-conference match. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Queens Sports Complex.

Fans can follow live statistics on the Furman Paladins’ official website and watch a live stream through the Queens Sports Network. Updates will also be provided on the team’s Twitter page.

Furman enters the game with a 1-1 record after securing their first win of the season last Friday against Austin Peay. The Paladins defeated Austin Peay 17-9 in their home opener at Paladin Stadium, recording advantages in shots, ground balls, and forced turnovers.

Reynolds Hester, Shae Insinga, and Lily Toole each contributed six points for Furman during that match. Both Insinga and Hester set new career highs in points; Insinga scored six goals while Hester had four assists. Caroline Smith achieved career bests with three points and three goals. Zoe Milmoe registered four caused turnovers and three ground balls—both career highs—and Rachel Sbei matched her best with three ground balls. Skylar Hilmer led in draws with seven and collected a personal best of six ground balls.

Goalkeeper Sam Melville came off the bench to earn her first collegiate win, finishing with six saves and two ground balls.

Queens (N.C.) holds an 0-4 overall record following a double overtime loss to Winthrop last Saturday. The Royals are coached by Kelly McQuilkin, now in her fourth year as head coach.

This meeting marks the third time Furman has played Queens (N.C.), with Furman holding a 2-0 advantage in previous games between the teams.

After this contest, Furman begins a stretch of three games within five days starting next Monday when they host Campbell at Paladin Stadium.
