U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has issued a statement in response to President Trump’s announcement of an agreement with a major pharmaceutical company aimed at reducing drug prices for Americans.

“I am very pleased President Trump is doing something about the high drug prices in America. The current system allows foreign countries to set low prices for the benefit of their citizens, while Americans are expected to cover research and development costs for everyone else. I believe this is an unfair trade practice and President Trump is right to challenge it.

“His announcement this week is a major step toward alleviating that problem. It’s now time for the developing world to pay their fair share for drugs made in America by American companies.”
