The South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) has recognized three employees from Greenville Technical College (GTC) as Educators of the Year in recognition of their outstanding service and achievement.
Chris Satterfield was recognized in the faculty category. Satterfield, who serves as director of the Planning and Transfer Headquarters at GTC while also teaching Marketing and Academic Connections classes, has spent 23 years in higher education with roles including assistant to the registrar at Lander University, registrar of Columbia Junior College (now South University), and advisor for online students at GTC.
Dr. Tanisha Latimer was recognized in the administrator category. Latimer serves as dean of enrollment services at GTC, responsible for admissions, orientation, student records, testing, and new student advising. Her 25 years of experience in higher education includes roles in enrollment management, student records and registration, academic advising, weighted admission programs, counseling, and career services.
Scherron Campbell was recognized in the staff category. Campbell works in the GTC Testing Center, administering professional certification and course exams. A GTC graduate, she went on to earn two bachelor’s degrees at USC Upstate and to work as an investigator with the FBI, in recruitment and hospital services for the American Red Cross, as a senior campus coordinator for Strayer University, and as a donor relations representative for The Blood Connection.
SCTEA encourages professional development and promotes the interests of the South Carolina Technical College System. Membership in SCTEA is open to anyone who supports technical education.
