Senator Lindsey Graham posted a series of tweets on October 12, 2025, addressing topics ranging from the war in Ukraine and U.S. foreign policy to domestic healthcare legislation.

In his first post, Graham commented on Russia’s military actions in Ukraine and European energy policy. He wrote, “Putin would not be able to wage war on Ukraine without oil and gas revenue. How does this war end?

More weapons in the hands of the Ukrainians to degrade Putin’s ability to produce and sell oil and gas.

Have Europe follow President @realDonaldTrump’s lead and go after https://t.co/FI2jgB0zA2” (October 12, 2025).

Later that day, Graham highlighted efforts by Melania Trump regarding children affected by the conflict. He stated, “.@FLOTUS Melania Trump has been diligently working to call attention to the approximately 19,000 children kidnapped by Russia during the war.

At the end of October, the @SenateForeign Relations Committee will mark up my bill to make Russia a state sponsor of terrorism under https://t.co/DN6Euv2oUB” (October 12, 2025).

On domestic policy, Graham questioned aspects of existing healthcare law: “If the Affordable Care Act is so “affordable”, why is it that every time I turn around it needs to be bailed out?” (October 12, 2025).

Lindsey Graham is a senior United States Senator from South Carolina with longstanding involvement in foreign affairs and national security issues as well as domestic legislative debates.

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has prompted international scrutiny over Russia’s energy exports, which provide significant funding for its military operations. European countries have debated strategies for reducing dependence on Russian oil and gas since early stages of the invasion in 2022.

Efforts to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism have been discussed within U.S. legislative bodies but have not yet resulted in formal designation as of mid-2024.

The Affordable Care Act has faced repeated political challenges since its passage in 2010; debates continue over its costs and sustainability among policymakers.
