Senator Lindsey Graham, who represents South Carolina in the U.S. Senate and serves as chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, announced his bid for re-election through a series of posts on March 16, 2026.

In a message posted at 20:10 UTC, Graham stated, “It’s official. I just left my campaign headquarters after filing for re-election. Thanks to all the family, friends and supporters that make this possible.”

Later that evening at 20:32 UTC, he followed up with another post saying, “You’re going to do what? Count me in.”

At 23:05 UTC on the same day, Graham addressed international security concerns by posting: “To our allies in Europe and throughout the Middle East: If you don’t believe Iran with a nuclear weapon would eventually be your war – you have missed a lot. Through Midnight Hammer and Epic Fury, @POTUS acted in the nick of time to prevent a nuclear armed Iranian regime. Past”

Graham has served as U.S. Senator since 2002 and is known for focusing on robust national defense and fiscal responsibility according to his official website. As chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, he released updated legislative text for a border-security funding bill in June 2025. He continues to play an active role within the U.S. government.
