On October 9, 2025, Graham expressed gratitude regarding an anticipated ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza. He wrote, “I am beyond thankful and grateful that it appears the hostages will be released, and a ceasefire will take effect in Gaza. @POTUS and his team, our regional partners and our friends in Israel should all be congratulated for making this important step forward together.”

The following day, Graham commented on the potential impact of a government shutdown. On October 9, 2025, he stated, “The shutdown may be better for Democrats, but it’s certainly not better for the United States. People serving our country, including our troops, border patrol and federal law enforcement, will have their pay interrupted. Flight delays are increasing.
