Lindsey Graham, U.S. Senator from South Carolina, posted a series of messages on September 3, 2025, addressing topics ranging from national security to international affairs.

In a post made early in the day, Graham offered his congratulations regarding the relocation of a major military command: “Congratulations to the state of Alabama for being named the new home of the U.S. Space Command. This was a great choice by President @realDonaldTrump. Alabama is one of the most military friendly states in our nation.” (September 3, 2025).

Later that morning, Graham commented on an immigration enforcement policy: “.@DHSgov’s decision to reimburse states who participate in the 287(g) program to combat illegal immigration is the right signal to send to enhance this program and keep our nation safe. I will also be working on a grant program to further incentivize states to participate in the” (September 3, 2025). The 287(g) program allows state and local law enforcement agencies to collaborate with federal authorities on immigration enforcement efforts.

In another message later that afternoon, Graham addressed foreign relations and historical narratives: “As usual, President @realDonaldTrump is right on multiple fronts. China, Russia and North Korea are trying to rewrite the history of World War II to meet their propaganda needs. The world knows what America did in World War II. That will never be erased by the desires of thugs” (September 3, 2025).

The U.S. Space Command’s move marks a significant development for Alabama’s role in national defense infrastructure. The Department of Homeland Security’s reimbursement policy under section 287(g) reflects ongoing debates about state participation in federal immigration enforcement initiatives.

Senator Lindsey Graham has served as a prominent voice on defense and security issues throughout his tenure in Congress.
