Senator Lindsey Graham posted a series of statements on September 14, 2025, addressing the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and praising former President Donald Trump’s leadership. In his remarks, Graham emphasized the political significance of Kirk’s death and called for continued engagement from conservatives.

In his first post, Graham wrote, “Charlie Kirk was critical in helping President Trump get re-elected. His assassination was an attack on conservatives and the MAGA movement, but we will not be deterred. We’ll organize, get involved, and win at the ballot box to honor his legacy.” (September 14, 2025).

Later that day, Graham reiterated the gravity of Kirk’s death by stating, “President @realDonaldTrump and I see what happened to Charlie Kirk as not just political violence, but an attack on a political movement.” (September 14, 2025).

In a separate message concerning international affairs, Graham expressed support for Trump’s approach to foreign policy: “President Trump has once again shown what strong leadership looks like on the world stage. Now it’s time for our European allies to step up and pull their weight.” (September 14, 2025).

Lindsey Graham is a U.S. Senator from South Carolina known for his vocal support of Donald Trump during both presidential campaigns and throughout Trump’s presidency.

Charlie Kirk was a prominent conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA. His activism played a significant role in mobilizing young voters within the Republican Party.

Trump’s relationship with European allies has been marked by calls for increased defense spending among NATO members—a point echoed in Graham’s remarks urging Europe to “pull their weight.”
