Lindsey Graham, U.S. Senator from South Carolina and chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, shared a series of statements on his social media account addressing international issues and expressing support for policy changes regarding Cuba and Iran.

On January 8, 2026, Graham posted: “Well said. It’s going to happen. Make Cuba Great Again.”

Shortly after, on January 9, 2026, he addressed European perspectives in another post: “To my tone-deaf European friends: I hope so. The people of Iran and Venezuela, the American worker, and families in the U.S. who’ve had their lives turned upside down by illegal drugs are also hoping that’s the case. Chill out. Have a schnapps.”

Later that day, Graham voiced support for former President Donald Trump’s stance on Iran with this statement: “President @realDonaldTrump is exactly right. He is standing with the people of Iran against brutal oppression from the murderous Iranian regime. Make Iran Great Again.”

Graham has been recognized for his advocacy of robust national defense and fiscal responsibility as outlined on his official website. In addition to chairing the Senate Budget Committee, he sits on other key committees such as Judiciary and Appropriations. First elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002, Graham represents South Carolina and has introduced legislation supporting Second Amendment rights while also releasing updated legislative text for border-security funding bills.
