Senator Lindsey Graham, representing South Carolina, has recently used his social media platform to express support for former President Donald Trump’s approach to foreign policy and ongoing international conflicts. In a series of posts made between August 8 and August 10, 2025, Graham referenced Trump’s willingness to engage in dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin and highlighted his own commitment to the “America First” agenda.

On August 8, Graham drew historical parallels between Trump’s diplomatic strategy and that of former President Ronald Reagan during the Cold War. He stated, “To those who criticize President Trump for being willing to meet with Putin to end the bloodbath in Ukraine – remember Reagan met with Gorbachev to try to end the Cold War. I’m confident President Trump will walk away – like Reagan – if Putin insists on a bad deal. Good”.

Two days later, on August 10, Graham acknowledged direct communication from Trump and reaffirmed his alignment with the former president’s policies. He wrote, “Thank you for your surprise call, Mr. President! With your support, I’ll keep delivering the America First agenda to the great people of South Carolina. I’m glad to have been part of the most awesome six months in modern history led by President @realDonaldTrump.”

Later that same day, Graham reiterated his stance on ending international conflict through diplomatic means under Trump’s leadership: “It’s time to end this war in an honorable way and achieve lasting peace. I’m confident President Trump will make it happen.”

Lindsey Graham has been a U.S. Senator since 2003 and is known for his evolving positions regarding both domestic and foreign policy issues over several administrations.
