Led by two goals from Isaiah Reid, the Clemson men's soccer team blanked USC Upstate, 5-0, Sunday night at Riggs Field, improving to 2-0 on the young season.
Netminder George Marks made four saves and combined with fellow goalie Trevor Manion for the clean sheet. Having played a majority of the game in between the pipes, however, Marks earned his 33rd career win, moving him into sixth place all-time on Clemson's goalie wins leaderboard.
“We took our restarts well," Clemson coach Mike Noonan said in an athletic department recap of the game. "We came out in the second half with the purpose of scoring a fourth goal, and once we did that it made the game a lot easier.”
Junior forward Mohamed Seye headed in a Callum Johnson cross in the opening minutes of the first half to give Clemson an early 1-0 lead.
Oskar Agren and Alvaro Gomez also scored.
The Tigers face rival South Carolina at 7 p.m. on Friday.
