The Greenville Triumph will host the Chattanooga Red Wolves in a United Soccer League showdown Saturday on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, according to a Green Triumph press release.
The match, which has been dubbed "Heroes Night," is sponsored by the Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union in recognition of all veterans, first responders, and their families.
“The club has worked with corporate partners and local businesses to donate tickets to local first responders, military personnel and their families for the Sept. 11 match," said the release. "Fans purchasing tickets to the match will be prompted with an option at checkout allowing them to donate tickets.”
The club will have pre- and halftime ceremonies to honor local heroes, so fans are encouraged to come early before the 7 p.m. kickoff.
One such pregame event will begin at 5 p.m. on Bramlett Road with a Touch-a-Truck exhibition including military, police, EMT, and fire department vehicles.
Additionally, the first 700 fans in attendance will receive a GHFCU-sponsored color-changing Triumph water bottle.
