Congressman William Timmons, who represents South Carolina’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account between September 9 and 10, 2025.
On September 9, Timmons announced an upcoming appearance on Newsmax, stating: “LIVE on @NEWSMAX at 3 PM ET — see you there! https://t.co/2cromdnBaq”.
The following day, he shared news of an accolade received from the Institute for Legislative Analysis: “Proud to be recognized as a ‘Champion of Limited Government’ by the Institute for Legislative Analysis! https://t.co/Os9roKkzXY”.
Later that same day, Timmons addressed homelessness policy in Washington, D.C., referencing new legislation he has introduced: “Allowing individuals to sleep in tents on the streets is not compassion — it is neglect. That is why I introduced the CAMPS Act (H.R. 5163) to restore safety and order in Washington, D.C. This bill will ban camping on public property — no tents, tarps, or makeshift shelters. https://t.co/Otfnhb3iqV”.
William Timmons has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Trey Gowdy. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018. Born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1984, Timmons continues to reside there. He holds a BA from George Washington University and a JD from the University of South Carolina.
