Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina’s 4th district since 2019, has recently shared a series of tweets expressing his concerns about the Biden Administration’s handling of vaccine-related information and celebrating a historical milestone for South Carolina. Timmons, who succeeded Trey Gowdy in Congress and previously served in the South Carolina Senate, is known for his critical stance on government transparency.
On May 23, 2025, Timmons tweeted that “The Biden Administration knew about myocarditis risks from the vaccine since Feb 2021 but hid it for MONTHS. They suppressed warnings and endangered countless lives! WHY?” This statement reflects his belief that there was a lack of transparency regarding health risks associated with vaccines during the early months of their rollout.
Later that day, he further criticized federal agencies by stating “The same agencies that lecture us about ‘trusting science’ redacted documents and slow-walked alerts to protect their narrative.” He emphasized the need for accountability among officials whom he perceives as compromised, advocating for real reform within these institutions.
In contrast to his earlier posts on the same day, Timmons also took a moment to celebrate South Carolina’s history. He posted “Happy 237th Birthday to the great state of South Carolina! On this day in 1788, we joined the Union as the 8th state. Proud to represent our Palmetto State’s rich history and bright future!” This tweet underscores his pride in representing South Carolina and its longstanding heritage.
William Timmons was born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1984. He graduated from George Washington University with a BA and earned a JD from the University of South Carolina. He currently resides in Greenville.
