Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina’s 4th district since 2019, has recently shared his views on key issues via social media. His tweets address matters ranging from border security to artificial intelligence in government operations and defense procurement reforms.

On June 5, 2025, Congressman Timmons emphasized the importance of border security by stating, “We MUST secure the border. This should not be a partisan issue.”

He expressed optimism about AI’s potential to improve efficiency and reduce financial waste, noting, “Our government is sitting on a goldmine of AI potential to track and eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse. On June 6, 2025, Timmons announced an upcoming subcommittee hearing focused on reforming procurement processes to enhance defense innovation. As chairman of Military and Foreign Affairs, he stated: “As chairman of Military and Foreign Affairs, I am proud to announce the subcommittee hearing on ‘Clearing the Path: Reforming Procurement to Accelerate Defense Innovation’ on June 11th at 10 ET.” The hearing aims to explore modernization strategies for government procurement.
