Congressman William Timmons, who has been representing South Carolina’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets discussing significant events and political developments. His posts covered topics ranging from local tourism initiatives to federal policy changes.

On February 11, 2025, Congressman Timmons highlighted Spartanburg’s role as host for South Carolina’s 60th annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Travel. He expressed pride in the opportunity to “showcase all that Spartanburg has to offer to over 400 tourism leaders” during this three-day event held in various cities across the state each year. “Spartanburg is proud to host South Carolina’s 60th annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Travel.”

Later that day, at approximately 8:23 PM UTC, Timmons announced an upcoming hearing by the DOGE Committee, scheduled for the following morning at 10 AM. His tweet emphasized that this was just the beginning of their activities: “THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING- FIRST @DOGECommittee HEARING. TOMORROW MORNING @ 10 AM.”

In another post on February 11, he referenced a political promise made during recent elections regarding reducing federal bureaucracy. Timmons stated that President Donald Trump had delivered on this commitment and offered his support to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE): “On November 5th, the American people voted overwhelmingly in favor of shrinking the federal bureaucracy… Godspeed, @DOGE!”
