Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina’s 4th district since 2019, has recently made several statements on social media regarding various pressing issues. His comments cover topics from regulatory clarity in the NFT ecosystem to drug-related concerns and changes in U.S. Attorneys under the Biden Administration.

On February 6, 2025, Congressman Timmons expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with colleague Rep. Ritchie Torres to enhance regulatory clarity within the burgeoning NFT sector. He emphasized the importance of establishing a framework that would position America as a leader in blockchain innovation. “Looking forward to working with my colleague @RepRitchie to provide regulatory clarity to the new and ever expanding NFT ecosystem. We must ensure a framework that allows America to lead the way in Blockchain innovation!”

Later that day, Timmons highlighted a significant drug bust in South Carolina which seized nearly four pounds of fentanyl—enough to potentially kill over 800,000 people. He noted that illicit fentanyl poisonings have become the leading cause of death among adults aged 18-49, surpassing cancer, heart disease, and car accidents. “A drug bust in South Carolina this week seized enough drugs to kill more than 800,000 people. This seize included almost four pounds of fentanyl.”

In another post on February 6, Timmons called for replacing U.S. Attorneys appointed by the Biden Administration with interim attorneys aligned with the new administration’s perspectives across all districts. This statement was supported by him and 32 other Congressional colleagues who seek changes at this level of federal law enforcement leadership.“I, along with 32 of my Congressional colleagues, are hereby calling for the replacement of the Biden Administration’s U.S. Attorneys…”
