William Timmons emphasizes support for women’s sports with passage of new act

Timmons, who has been serving since 2019 after succeeding Trey Gowdy, made comments on legislation related to women’s sports and praised political figures for their actions.

In a tweet posted at 17:39 UTC, Congressman Timmons announced the passing of H.R. 28, known as the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. He stated that “.@HouseGOP kept our promise to stand up for girls in sports by passing H.R. 28, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. We stand committed to putting a stop to Democrats’ distorted reality and will always stand up for women.”

Later that day at 21:28 UTC, Timmons declared an end to what he termed as “the war on women’s sports,” expressing gratitude towards the President of the United States with a statement reading “The war on women’s sports is officially over! Thank you, @POTUS. “

In another post at 23:04 UTC, Timmons drew parallels between Elon Musk’s actions and promises made by former President Trump. He criticized Democrats for their response while emphasizing issues such as government efficiency and transparency. His message read “Elon Musk is doing exactly what President Trump promised voters they would do and democrats are losing their minds. If only they were this passionate about efficiency and transparency within our federal government.”
