Congressman William Timmons, who has been representing South Carolina’s 4th district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets outlining his views on various legislative initiatives. These tweets, posted on May 20, 2025, cover topics ranging from border security to healthcare and fiscal policy.

In one tweet, Congressman Timmons highlighted measures aimed at enhancing border security. He stated that the initiative would “boost Border Patrol and ICE agents on the frontlines.” This plan includes hiring an additional 10,000 ICE personnel, 5,000 customs officers, and 3,000 Border Patrol agents. Additionally, it proposes $10,000 bonuses for these agents over the next four years.

Another tweet addressed changes in healthcare policy regarding minors. Timmons announced that legislation would “end taxpayer-funded sex change for minors.” The proposal seeks to reverse a mandate from the Biden administration that required Medicaid to cover gender transition procedures for minors.

Furthermore, Congressman Timmons tweeted about efforts to reduce federal spending. He claimed that the proposed legislation would “reverse the spending curse plaguing Washington D.C.” by achieving significant deficit reduction. The plan aims to deliver $1.6 trillion in mandatory savings—the largest deficit reduction seen in nearly three decades.

William Timmons was born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1984 and has been active in politics since serving in the South Carolina Senate from 2016 to 2018 before moving on to Congress. He holds degrees from George Washington University and the University of South Carolina.
