Congressman William Timmons, who represents South Carolina’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, announced the introduction of a new bill aimed at strengthening security in the federal government’s technology supply chain.

On January 30, 2026, Timmons posted on his social media account: “Today, I introduced H.R. 7274 to crack down on foreign threats infiltrating our government’s technology supply chain. China and other adversaries shouldn’t have a backdoor into federal systems. This bill gives us the tools to stop it.
