The City of Greenville has appointed Sam Konduros as the President/CEO of the Greenville City Economic Development Corporation (GCEDC), marking a significant step in the city's economic development initiatives. Konduros, a seasoned professional with a diverse background, is poised to bring a wealth of expertise to his new role.

Describing himself as “mission-driven” and an “entrepreneur at heart,” Konduros is a licensed attorney, certified economic developer, and realtor. His impressive career includes leadership positions at notable organizations such as President/CEO of Upstate SC Alliance and President/CEO of SCBio (South Carolina Biotechnology Industry Organization).

Mayor Knox White expressed confidence in Konduros, highlighting his dynamic leadership qualities and extensive experience. Mayor White stated, “The City of Greenville prides itself in its innovation and 24/7 vibrance. Sam is a dynamic, high-energy leader, with decades of experience and strong relationships. It’s a perfect pairing.” Additionally, Mayor White emphasized Konduros' valuable contributions through his involvement with various agencies, underscoring the fresh perspective he brings to the city's economic development endeavors.

City Councilor John DeWorken also commended Konduros, noting his successful track record in establishing thriving economic development organizations in South Carolina. DeWorken expressed excitement about Konduros joining the City of Greenville and his role in spearheading the GCEDC's efforts to attract businesses, retailers, restaurants, and support small business owners.

The establishment of the GCEDC in 2023 signifies the city's commitment to advancing its Economic Development Strategic Plan. With a focus on real estate development, small and minority businesses, retail, marketing, investor relations, and business recruitment, the GCEDC aims to drive economic growth and prosperity in Greenville.

Sam Konduros, a graduate of Clemson University and the University of South Carolina School of Law, is set to commence his new position in April. With his extensive experience and dedication, Konduros is poised to lead the GCEDC towards achieving its goals and contributing to the economic vitality of the City of Greenville.
