One of the first Black women to enroll at Furman University, Lillian Brock Flemming ’71, ’75(M), ’14(H) has enjoyed a front-row seat for witnessing decades of change in Greenville, South Carolina.
Now celebrating 40 years on the City Council, Flemming was honored with a tribute to her accomplishments. From affordable housing to Fluor Field to Unity Park, Flemming’s influence and leadership permeate virtually every corner of the city. Learn more on Facebook about her legacy from Mayor Knox White and State Representative and former councilwoman Chandra Dillard, who also serves as Furman’s director of community relations.
