Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin metro lag behind Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale in 2019

The Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin metro area exported $14.5 billion in 2019, less than exports from Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin metro area consists of four counties.

The Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area comprises two counties exporting $15.1 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
