A high-performance textile manufacturer recently announced plans to expand operations in Anderson County.
Glen Raven Inc. will invest $70 million for its custom fabrics division that will result in the creation of 135 new jobs, according to a Gov. Henry McMaster office release.
Glen Raven CEO Leib Oehmig said the company was proud to be a part of the community and looked forward to the endeavor.
“We’ve been a proud part of the Anderson County community since 1986, and over the decades, dedicated and skilled South Carolinians have been critical to our growth,” Oehmig said in the governor's office release. “We are thrilled to expand on our great partnership and look forward to creating more growth for our company and the community, together.”
Glen Raven is a prominent supplier of innovative performance textiles with commonly recognized global brands including Sunbrella and Dickson with company focus primarily on the awning, marine and furniture industries.
Located at 4665 Liberty Highway in Anderson, Glen Raven’s expansion will add a distribution center to the company’s existing local operations with new equipment and processes that will improve overall productivity and capability, according to the governor's office release.
The business is also improving its Sunbrella manufacturing assets with added finishing capacity and investments to augment material flow while expanding and improving inspection and sampling capabilities.
