Engineering company Bosch Rexroth announced plans on Dec. 15 to expand manufacturing operations through a new testing facility in Greenville County.

As a global leader in automotive technology, specializing in drive and control, Bosch Rexroth announced plans to expand its already-existing hydraulics manufacturing campus in Greenville County through a $12.8 million investment aimed at creating more than 60 new jobs over the next five years, according to a news release from South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R).

“We are very excited to see this continued investment in our business here in Greenville County, especially the investments linked to local R&D (research and development) activities," said Bosch Rexroth Technical Plant Manager Mike McCormick, according to McMaster's news release.

The company's initial facility opened in 1989 and has been located at 8 Southchase Court in Fountain Inn ever since. As an international tech supplier, Bosch Rexroth's manufacturing sites have provided state-of-the-art manufacturing designed to produce hydraulic pumps and motors used in construction, agriculture, mining, material handling, and oil and gas exploration.

"Bosch Rexroth has been a longtime business partner in South Carolina, and today, we celebrate them once again for growing their operations in Greenville County. Our competitive business environment and talented workforce make South Carolina an ideal place for global companies like Bosch Rexroth to grow, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for this great company," McMaster said in his news release.

The new expansion on the Greenville County facility will focus on enhancing product development and testing capabilities, while including a new off-highway equipment testing area designed to give Bosch Rexroth engineers the capability to test products on customer equipment. This new opportunity for engineers will make for quicker innovation, rapid prototyping, and faster customer response, in addition to showcasing and evaluating new and current products that serve various industries across the globe.
