WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has announced a change in his staff. Kevin Bishop, who has served as Graham's Communications Director for over 20 years, will be retiring from his position and service in the United States Senate. Bishop's role will be assumed by Taylor Reidy, the current Deputy Communications Director.
Graham expressed his gratitude for Bishop's dedicated service, stating, "For more than 25 years, Kevin has served the people of South Carolina exceedingly well. I, along with the people of South Carolina, have benefitted from his work on their behalf. Kevin has one of the brightest minds in public service. Kevin’s understanding of policy and politics at the state and national level is second-to-none. He has been an invaluable advisor and friend."
Bishop's relationship with Graham goes back even further, as he served as Graham's Press Secretary from 1997 to 2002 when Graham was a Representative for South Carolina's Third Congressional District. Reflecting on their long-standing professional partnership, Graham shared, "More than 20 years ago, when I represented the Third Congressional District in the House of Representatives, Kevin asked if he could relocate back to South Carolina for a better way of life and to live with our constituents. Kevin and his wife Julie moved to Easley and have never looked back. I know he will be successful and wish him well in all his future endeavors."
In response to his retirement, Bishop expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Graham, stating, "For the past 27 years, I have had a front-row seat to history. I consider myself to be incredibly fortunate to have met and worked with him. He has been a wonderful boss and most of all, friend. He gets up every day and goes to work making South Carolina a better place to live, raise a family, own a business, and our men and women in uniform have no bigger advocate. I will always be proud of my years of service in support of Lindsey and being part of the team."
As Bishop moves on to new endeavors, Taylor Reidy will step into the role of Communications Director. Reidy has been serving as the Deputy Communications Director and is ready to take on the responsibilities of the position.
Senator Lindsey Graham's staff change marks the end of an era as Kevin Bishop, his long-serving Communications Director, retires and Taylor Reidy steps in to continue the important work of communication and public service.
