Congressman William Timmons of South Carolina's 4th District has announced his support for a bill aimed at aiding residents, businesses, and farmers affected by Tropical Storm Helene. The legislation, known as H.R. 10545 or the American Relief Act, also includes provisions to fund the government through March 14, 2025.

Timmons expressed the importance of providing President Trump with "the maximum amount of leverage possible" as he prepares to return to office in January. He noted that achieving this support took time but emphasized that the bill offers a necessary foundation for future progress.

The congressman highlighted that many requests from President Trump were incorporated into the bill. These include assistance for states like South Carolina, which experienced significant damage from recent storms. Timmons anticipates collaborating with President Trump and a unified Republican government next year on various fiscal matters.

"I look forward to working with President Trump and our unified Republican government next year to address our national debt and deficit," Timmons stated. He also mentioned goals such as reducing federal spending, restoring fiscal sanity in Washington, and prioritizing America first.
