Subcommittee on Military and Foreign Affairs Chairman William Timmons has announced an upcoming hearing to discuss the Trump Administration's efforts in rebuilding American military and foreign policy. The hearing, titled “Emerging Global Threats: Putting America’s National Security First,” aims to evaluate strategies for enhancing U.S. security and global leadership.
Chairman Timmons emphasized the importance of re-establishing America's strength internationally, citing perceived weaknesses during the Biden Administration. "For four years we watched as the Biden Administration fumbled foreign diplomacy and instituted policy after policy which eroded America’s leadership on the world stage," he stated. He further highlighted that under President Trump, there is a noticeable resurgence in U.S. global influence. "This hearing is a great opportunity to learn from experts what the U.S. can do to fully restore America's ability to combat threats from the CCP and return trust to the American people that our foreign policy will keep them safe."
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. ET in room 2247 of the Rayburn House Office Building. It will feature testimonies from Dr. Meaghan Mobbs of the Independent Women’s Forum, Mr. Brent Sadler from The Heritage Foundation, and Dr. Jacob Olidort of America First Policy Institute.
The event will be accessible to both public attendees and media representatives and will also be streamed online at https://oversight.house.gov/.
