Congressman William Timmons, representing South Carolina's 4th district since 2019, recently shared updates on national security and leadership appointments via social media. Timmons, who also serves as the chairman of Military and Foreign Affairs, provided insights into upcoming hearings and congratulated a new nominee for FBI Director.

On February 19, 2025, Congressman Timmons announced that "as chairman of Military and Foreign Affairs, I am proud to announce that the subcommittee will hold our first hearing on 'Emerging Global Threats: Putting America’s National Security First' next Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET." He noted that the hearing would examine the actions of the Trump administration concerning national security.

The following day, on February 20, Timmons extended congratulations to Kash Patel on his nomination as FBI Director. He stated: "CONFIRMED Congratulations to Kash Patel on his nomination to serve as FBI Director. Kash’s proven dedication to public service and national security is a big win for America! I am looking forward to seeing the FBI restored to its core mission under his leadership!"
