On February 19, 2025, Congressman Timmons announced that "as chairman of Military and Foreign Affairs, I am proud to announce that the subcommittee will hold our first hearing on 'Emerging Global Threats: Putting America’s National Security First' next Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET." He noted that the hearing would examine the actions of the Trump administration concerning national security.
